Just because the law (in the US, not sure of other areas) allows an individual to self-train an SD doesn’t mean everyone can or should. If you don’t know what vet evaluations are recommended for working dogs when they should be performed, and at what age you can start training different behaviors, you don’t have the skill set to be training your own SD.

If you are polling social media on how to even get started (as opposed to brainstorming different ways to handle one unique issue), you don’t have the skill set to be training your own SD. If you don’t know the different state and federal laws which apply to SDs and service dogs in training, you don’t have the skill set to be training your own SD. If you don’t know the basic starting points to determine what Service Dog Tasks for Psychiatric Disabilities would be needed and how to train them, you don’t have the skill set to be training your own SD. If you don’t know how to perform a public access test when it should be done, and by whom, you don’t have the skill set to be training your own SD. If you don’t know what the Volhard Test, noise sensitivity tests, and another temperament test (much less who should perform them and when) are, you don’t have the skill set to be training your own SD. If you don’t know the IAADP Minimum Training Standards for Public Access or how to achieve them, you don’t have the skill set to be training your own SD. If you don’t know what it means to have behaviors under stimulus control, much less how to achieve that, you don’t have the skill set to be training your own SD.
Yes, people should ignore the SD, but what people should do and what they actually do are not the same. Having an SD makes you a beacon for strangers who will walk up to you and strike up a conversation, ask intimate and personal questions about your disability, want to interact with your dog, volunteer all sorts of stories about their dogs, and otherwise put you in more frequent and uncomfortable social situations. You are doing an INCREDIBLE disservice to Yourself (by creating more anxiety taking on complex tasks you are ill-equipped to manage and forcing yourself into increasingly stressful and anxiety-producing situations with a dog not behaving properly, and Additionally, an SD is not always the best medical tool for. If you are polling strangers, who may have no training or service dog experience, to try to figure out how to even start, you are so fat over your head. Temperament testing a working dog, training the minimum standards for public access, understanding how to chain complex behaviors to create tasks, knowing how to get behavior under stimulus control, evaluating failures to determine if a correction is trainable or there is an unworkable issue requiring wash-out, and so on are not the types of things one can or should be learning on social media.
